The New Lower Limb Prostheses LCD and Policy Article: A 360-Degree View

In this webinar, we will explain the requirements and implications of the updated Lower Limb Prostheses LCD and Policy Article.

In this webinar, we will explain the requirements and implications of the updated Lower Limb Prostheses LCD and Policy Article. For the first time since publication of these new documents, a distinguished panel of experts will assess them from a variety of perspectives relevant to every O&P business and clinician:

The K2 Patient Population's Needs: Dr. Robert Gailey, Ph.D., PT, FAPTA, is a Professor and Director of the Neil Spielholz Functional Outcomes Research and Evaluation Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. An expert in amputee rehabilitation, prosthetic gait, and functional assessments, Bob will explain what clinical research shows us about the mobility and stability needs of K2 patients.

How Different Knees Solve Different Clinical Issues: Jennifer Johansson is the Director of Research at Liberating Technologies and has managed biomechanical research projects through Harvard Medical School at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Jen will share the results of research she participated in as a principal investigator examining different types of prosthetic knees and the differences between them.

Maximizing K2 Patients' Mobility and Stability: Kurt Gruben, CPO, is the Clinical Manager for Ossur's Market Access Department. With extensive experience educating and training prosthetists across the U.S. about how to appropriately align and fit a range of prosthetic solutions, Kurt will discuss both alignment and programming considerations clinicians need to take into account when fitting a microprocessor knee on a K2 patient.

Understanding the Coding and Coverage Requirements of the LCD and Policy Article. David McGill is the Vice President of Market Access for Ossur. He has 25 years' experience addressing and overcoming reimbursement, regulatory, and legal barriers affecting amputees. David will review the changes in both the LCD and Policy Article and explain how O&P's should update their clinical and operational workflows based on the new requirements.
