How to size Iceross® liners
Careful selection of a transtibial or transfemoral Iceross liner is required to produce maximum benefit to the user. Please refer to the Össur Product Catalogue for additional information on liner sizing.
Iceross Transtibial Liners
Transtibial Measurement
With the tissue of the residual limb hanging down, measure 4cm proximal to the distal end of the limb and mark this point on the skin. Measure the circumference of the limb at this point with medium tension on the tape measure.
Transtibial Selection Diagram
Measure the circumference of the residual limb approximately 30 cm above the distal end, refer to the horizontal axis of the selection chart. If the intersection from the horizontal and vertical axes lies in the light grey area of the chart then a standard profile is recommended, if it lies in the dark grey area then a conical profile is recommended.
Transtibial Seal Ring Size Selection
Measure residual limb circumference (in cm) at the appropriate location, directly on the skin. Refer to the sizing chart to estimate correct device size.
Iceross Tranfemoral Liners
The transfemoral residual limb offers slightly different challenges to the prosthetist than the transtibial residual limb in terms of achieving results from a prosthetic fitting. In recognising these challenges, Össur was the first to design and introduce a specific Iceross Transfemoral liner to offer comfort, protection, and suspension of the transfemoral prosthesis.
Transfemoral Measurement
With the tissue of the residual limb hanging down, measure 4 cm proximal to the distal end of the limb and mark this point on the skin. Measure the circumference of the limb at this point with medium tension on the tape measure.
Transfemoral Selection Diagram
Measure and record the circumference of the limb at the level of the perineum, refer to the horizontal axis of the selection chart. If the intersection from the horizontal and vertical axes lies in the light grey area of the selection chart then a standard profile is recommended; if it lies in the dark grey area then a conical profile is recommended.
Transfemoral Seal Ring Size Selection
Measure residual limb circumference (in cm) at the appropriate location, directly on the skin. Refer to the sizing chart to estimate correct device size.
