Andrea Scherney has been an amputee since 1986, when she had a motorcycle accident that ended with the amputation of her left leg below the knee. The most important moment in Andrea's life was the first time she was able to walk, and later to run, without any pain after her accident. Her message to people with disabilities is that movement and sporting activities generate new physical strengths, increased self- confidence. Andrea also believes that she is helping people to accept and love the disabled body, when they see her and what she is capable of doing despite her disabilities.
