Richard Whitehead edges closer to the dream, with NY marathon time of 4hrs 9m!

In the bitter cold of November the 5th, Richard Whitehead (30) from the UK was one of the many international runners among the crowds of native New Yorkers and other Americans lining up for the annual NY Marathon. A bi-lateral through-the-knee (congenital) amputee, Richard has only been running since 2004, yet this year he shaved an amazing one hour and ten minutes off his previous NY time. Start me up! Ossur underwrites membership fees for sports medicine practitioners

Ossur is delighted to announce a new support initiative in partnership with the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). Through its established relationships associated with the recently acquired Innovation Sports, Ossur has underwritten the "Candidate Member Starter Package" for all current sports medicine fellows, a grant which will cover a number of membership benefits as well as the $150 membership application fee.

O&P professionals gathered in Stoke on Trent over the weekend for ISPO UKs 2006 Annual Scientific Meeting. "The client as consumer" was one of the thought-provoking presentations. Questioning the traditional look of most medical devices equipment, it highlighted examples of inclusive design for “cool” products.
