Sandy Dukat scales Kilimanjaro

Paralympic and world championship medallist, and Team Ossur member Sandy Dukat has never been one to sit still. Following her retirement from competitive sport, announced in July, Sandy has been to Africa and made it to the "Roof of Africa", Mount Kilimanjaro. Her journey has helped to raise awareness about women athletes with physical disabilities and secure funding for two such women to race and train for a year.

A patient-led fitness program for amputees has been launched at the Manchester Disablement Services Centre in the UK. Manchester Amputee Fitness Initiative, or MANFIT, aims to improve the general fitness of those who have been discharged from physiotherapy. Two dedicated trainers coach amputees in exclusive gym sessions, as well as setting up home exercise regimes.
