Caught up in the 2004 Asian Tsunami, Fiona Callanan lost her right leg as a result of her injuries. The first two days of competition in Assen have got the IPC 2006 Athletics World Championships underway in spectacular form. Thousands of athletes, volunteers and spectators have descended on the small town in the north of the Netherlands, ready for some serious competition and some serious fun in the run up to the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. South Africa's Oscar Pistorius is already creating a stir, snatching Gold in the Mens T44 400m and securing a new world record into the process.
