Around half of the Total Knee units which were the subject of a voluntary recall earlier this year have been returned and orders for new units are now being accepted. No resultant incidents or injuries have been reported and product failure among the recalled devices is less than 1%. Customers are urged to return faulty units as soon as they are replaced.

The British TV producer Stuart Hughes was one of the first BBC correspondents to arrive in Beirut after the breakout of hostilities in the region. An amputee due to a landmine incident in Iraq, Stuart is determined to keep in training for the Reykjavik marathon in August despite working 20-hour days in a war zone. We are glad to hear that his Ossur prosthetics are serving him brilliantly out there. Stay safe Stuart!

Seven colleagues and friends from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London have cycled from London to Paris in less than 24 hours to raise money for those who lost limbs in the London bombings on 7th July 2005. The money is going to a special fund, set up through the Douglas Bader Foundation.
